San Diego Visual Arts Network (SDVAN) produces information so as to improve the clarity, accuracy, and sophistication of San Diego's artistic and cultural discourse. It is dedicated to the idea that the visual arts are vital to the health of the city. SDVAN's website offers a wealth of information and collaboration opportunities for visual artists.
In the arts, we believe that we can widen our horizons by experiencing transformational experiences. As well as raising the bar on the writing, production, and appreciation of the visual arts in San Diego, we hope to build the confidence of those involved in the arts. San Diego's only Visual Arts website. Our nonprofit organization is 100% volunteer run, with all services free of charge and funded by donations from people like you who believe in what we do.
It includes a feature that encourages new art buyers to join; SmART Collector; a gossip column RAW; top picks of the month Picked RAW including Branching Out with new listings on the site, a Peeled Picked RAW report, as well as a monthly newsletter with updates about the site. We sponsor the San Diego Art Prize and the New Contemporaries, and we support exhibitions that support local talent, including Little & Large, Movers & Shakers, and Art Meets Fashion. In Eat Your Art Out fundraisers, we connect artists with patrons.
We receive over one million hits per year and 4 to 5000 unique visitors per month on SDVAN. Our directory includes over 2200 visual arts resources, including artists in the South Dakota region.
A directory entry includes a name and location of the service or organization, contact information (telephone, fax, email), and a description of the services the organization offers. There is no printed version of the directory, only a website.
Listers directly enter entries into the site.
This Events Calendar lists the next 15 events as well as ongoing events sorted by type and location. There are both paid and volunteer opportunities available, including grant opportunities with age and type filters. By name, medium, and gallery affiliation, SDVAN provides a listing of artists with websites and gallery affiliations.
